Position Overview:
We're seeking a Full-stack Engineer to work on and own the mobile and backend systems for our Career Discovery app. Your role will be to take over and develop the (Flutter) mobile app to support the growing number of students and adult learners who will use the app to navigate their careers.
You’ll continue to grow your expertise in mobile and backend development. There's scope from there to step up to a tech lead role or to go deeper in the areas that interest you most. We’re looking for someone with strong technical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain mobile and backend systems for our educational platform
- Build interfaces with AI and machine learning features
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business, design, and curriculum developers
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing
- Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions
What We’re Searching For:
- Experienced (3+ years) in full-stack development, with strong skills in mobile and backend technologies
Please note: this is not an entry level position, and we'll explicitly flag new grad/entry level positions when they come up - Proficient in relevant programming languages (e.g. Dart, Python)
- Experienced with modern web frameworks and mobile development platforms (most especially: Flutter)
- Familiar with database technologies and API design
- Strong communicator, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Passionate about revolutionizing education and workforce development through technology
We Prefer If You Have:
- Experience with educational technology systems
- Background in working for a venture-backed startup, with a deep understanding of the fast-paced, dynamic environment and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
